5. At the Post Office
You won’t be able to pay at the Post Office from 15 December 2017.
You can pay by debit card or cash if you both:
- still get paper statements from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
- have the paying-in slip HMRC sent you
Some branches will let you pay by cheque made payable to ‘Post Office Ltd’. Contact your local branch to check.
You can pay up to a limit of £10,000 at a Post Office.
HMRC will accept your payment on the date you make it, and not the date it reaches their account (as long as you pay from Monday to Friday).
