Visit the UK as part of a German school trip
The German-UK school trip travel arrangement has not yet come into force.
As part of the UK-Germany Friendship and Bilateral Cooperation Treaty (‘the Kensington Treaty’), the UK and Germany agreed to make travel requirements for school groups easier. This arrangement is not currently in place and cannot be used yet.
We will publish the UK-Germany school trip travel information form and relevant guidance when this arrangement comes into force on 1 August 2026.
Until this arrangement is in place, German school groups visiting the UK must continue to meet the current passport or visit visa requirements. This includes electronic travel authorisation (ETA) requirements.
