Report an error in fuel prices or forecourt details

Use the Fuel Finder service to report any issue you notice with a forecourt’s information.

Fuel Finder is a new government service that helps drivers find the cheapest fuel near them. It makes fuel prices available to third party apps and websites so motorists can compare prices easily.

If you notice an error on an app or website which uses Fuel Finder data, such as a difference between price charged vs advertised, you can use this service to report it.

This page is for people to report a discrepancy in the data. There is separate guidance for forecourts on updating their details.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • the forecourt name and address (or postcode)
  • the date and time you noticed the issue (forecourts must update prices within 30 minutes of any change)
  • what is wrong (for example: prices, facilities, opening times, accessibility, location details, temporary closures)
  • where you saw the information (for example, roadside sign, pump display, app listing or on-site)
  • photos or screenshots (for example, pump, receipt, signage or app) – optional

You can submit a report anonymously. If you leave contact details, we may contact you about your report.

This service is for forecourts in the UK.

What happens next

Your report helps us keep information accurate and may be shared with the forecourt operator or local Trading Standards.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) may take enforcement action if forecourts persistently fail to report on time, or report inaccurate data.
