Make and manage an export declaration online
Use this online service to make or manage a declaration of goods being exported from Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) to a country outside the UK.
You must be subscribed to the Customs Declaration Service to use this online service.
You can use this service to make:
- a standard export declaration
- a special procedures declaration
- a dispatch of goods to a special fiscal territory, such as the Canary Islands
- a simplified declaration (regular use)
- a simplified declaration (on an occasional basis)
- a C21 customs clearance request
- an entry in declarant’s records (EIDR)
- a supplementary declaration
You can also use this service to link consignments together into a bigger consignment, under one Master Unique Consignment Reference (MUCR).
Online services may be slow during busy times. Check if there are any problems with this service.
Before you start
You’ll need the Government Gateway user ID and password linked to your EORI number.
If you do not have a Government Gateway user ID, you can create one the first time you make a declaration.
To use this service you must:
- have the EORI numbers of any organisation involved in the export
- check how to complete an export declaration
- have the right commodity code for the goods
- have the value, weight, size and type of packaging
- give details of where the goods will be sent and the transport used
- have invoice and packing list references
After you’ve declared
Once you’ve completed your export declaration, the person transporting the goods will need:
- your invoice
- any export licences or certificates needed
If the UK port used is not linked to an inventory system, the person transporting the goods will then need to tell HMRC when the goods have left the UK.
