Financial ceiling: Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) 2023
Rural businesses can find out the amount of funding available for BPS 2023.

The 2023 total ceiling for England has been confirmed as £1,845,156,000, which is the same as the 2022 ceiling.
This amount will be used to calculate BPS entitlement values and to fund the young farmer payment for the 2023 scheme.
For BPS 2023, RPA will apply further progressive reductions to each farmer’s payment as we continue to phase the payments out and introduce our new schemes. This means the overall amount spent on BPS 2023 will be less than the ceiling.
