Accessing Ofsted services with Government Gateway
Find out what information you will need to create and use a Government Gateway account so that you can use Ofsted's services.

To access certain online Ofsted services you will need to create a Government Gateway account.
What you will need
You will need the following things to create an account:
- your name
- an email address
- a password
How to set up a Government Gateway account
You should follow these steps to create an account:
- Access the Ofsted service you want to use.
- If it is protected by Government Gateway, you will be asked to ‘sign in using Government Gateway’.
- Scroll down the page and select ‘Create sign in details’.
- Enter the email address you want associated with your Government Gateway account.
- Enter the confirmation code that Government Gateway will then send to that email.
- Enter your name.
- Create your password.
Multi-factor authentication
You can now choose whether or not to set up multi-factor authentication before accessing the Ofsted service you want to use.
This will add security to your account and make it easier to recover your sign in details if you forget them.
