This ad hoc publication provides information on the mode of assessment used to conduct Work Capability Assessments, the benefit decisions taken following the assessments, and the age, gender and medical conditions of the claimants undertaking the assessments. 

We have also published Personal Independence Payment decision-based mode of assessment statistics for April 2019 to March 2026.

We have also published a report providing information on the analytical results of the Health Assessments Channel Trial, an evaluation in 2022 to 2023 to determine whether assessment channel affected outcomes for Work Capability Assessments and Personal Independence Payment assessments.
