This statistical release contains England-level findings from the survey of adult carers in England (SACE) undertaken in 2025 to 2026. This national survey takes place every 2 years and is conducted by local authorities that provide or commission adult social care services.
SACE collects feedback from unpaid carers aged 18 and over who support an adult receiving social care. It aims to understand how well local services help carers in their caring role and daily lives, as well as their views on the services provided to the person they care for.
It provides critical user experience information that is designed to:
- help the adult social care sector understand more about how services are affecting lives
- inform service development
This publication consists of:
- a commentary on the data from 2025 to 2026
- associated question responses and demographic data tables, and time series data (in ODS format)
- a quality of life scores data table
- a data quality report and associated data quality tables (in ODS format)

- a zip folder that contains a CSV file of all SACE data aimed at analysts and guidance on how to use it
