In January 2024:

  • new data has been added on suicide rates for the period 2020 to 2022 for persons, males and females at England, regions, county, unitary authority and district level
  • suicides rates for the period 2012 to 2021 have been updated for persons, males and females at England, regions, county, unitary authority and district level
  • a selection of indicators has been updated in the related risk factors and the related service contacts topics

About the suicide prevention profile

The suicide prevention profile has been produced to help develop understanding at a local level and support an intelligence-driven approach to suicide prevention. It provides planners, providers and stakeholders with the means to profile their area and benchmark against similar populations.
