The adult mental health and wellbeing profile:
- supports understanding of adult mental health and wellbeing at a local level
- supports an intelligence-based approach to service planning, commissioning and delivery
- provides a set of indicators that allow planners, providers and stakeholders to profile their area and benchmark against similar populations
The July 2026 update includes new data for the financial year ending in 2024 on secondary mental health services for England, regions (NHS and statistical), integrated care boards and upper tier local authorities including:
- new referrals
- attended contacts
- inpatient stays
This release is accompanied by a statistical commentary.
