S1 If online:

Hello. Thank you for accessing this survey which is being run by IFF Research on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).

DWP and DHSC have provided IFF Research with your contact details as you have recently started receiving support to help you move into or stay in work. You might know this support as the ‘WorkWell’ programme.

We are collecting information on the situation of WorkWell participants prior to starting on the programme, and your experience of receiving support from WorkWell.

The information you provide in this survey will be used to improve the support that DWP and DHSC provide to people who need help with health and work in the future.

All online:

Our questions should take around 20 minutes to answer, and we will send you a £5 email voucher once completed as a thank you for taking part. Taking part is voluntary. If you do take part and you do not feel comfortable answering any particular question, you do not have to. You can stop the survey at any time without giving a reason. If you agree to participate, we will also contact you in six months time to complete another survey so we can understand how things may have changed for you.

Please be assured that participating in the survey will not affect any benefit claims or the support you receive in any way, now or in the future. Your answers will be held in the strictest confidence by the research team at IFF Research in accordance with the MRS Code of Conduct, unless you tell us that you or someone else is at risk. You have the right to have a copy of your data, change your data, or withdraw from the research at any point. If you’d like to do this, you can consult the IFF Research website.

Any information you give us during the survey will be treated as strictly confidential. Responses from all individuals taking part in the research will be provided to DWP and DHSC anonymously, meaning DWP and DHSC will not be able to identify you unless you provide explicit permission for us to link your responses to information that DWP and DHSC hold about you. We want to assure you that no individual will be identifiable in any of the published reports or findings of the research.

Under data protection law (GDPR), you have the right to have a copy of your data, change your data, or withdraw from the research at any point.

By clicking ‘next’ and completing the survey, you are telling us that you agree to take part in this research.

If CATI

If S1=1: Great, thanks.

If S1=2: [Good morning, afternoon or evening]. My name is [name] and I’m calling on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions from IFF Research.

I am calling today as we are working with the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department of Health and Social care to understand more about the experiences of people with health conditions or disabilities who’ve been receiving support to help them move into or stay in work . You might know this support as the ‘WorkWell’ programme. Your input can help improve the support provided to people who may need help with health and work in the future. It would be really helpful to go through some questions together.

Just to check, are you currently receiving support from the WorkWell programme?

Add if necessary:

To be clear this is not in relation to any benefits you receive and will not impact any future benefits you may need to claim.

The call today may take around 25 mins.

This call may be recorded for quality and training purposes only.

Responses are anonymous.

The survey is about people’s health and how it affects their ability to work. It’s for both people who are currently working and those who are not.
