Documents

Details

In 2011, there was a reported discrepancy between statistics on the number of abortions carried out following diagnosis of Down’s, Edwards and Patau syndrome reported to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and those provided by the National Down’s Syndrome Cytogenetic Register. This report provides the results of a data matching exercise and makes a series of recommendations to encourage hospitals to ensure that all abortions are reported to the CMO.
