Document status codes for harmonised declarations to help identify the availability of the document.

Details

If you are making a declaration using the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) follow the guidance in the UK Trade Tariff: volume 3 for CDS.

The document status code identifies the availability of the document (first character) along with the action to be taken with the document when one is identified or the reason for not supplying a document (second character).

The codes that are allowed for a particular document are in CHIEF: document, certificate and authorisation codes for harmonised declarations.

The customs procedure codes notes should be checked to determine whether security or other provision is needed for a particular status (for example, when the document isn’t available to customs with the declaration).
