UK Trade Tariff: Direct Trader Input (DTI) character outputs

If you are making a declaration using the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) follow the guidance in the UK Trade Tariff: volume 3 for CDS.

Code Description
EO Inventory failure report - related to the inventory linked environment. Produced on the declarant’s character printer. When the details entered by a declarant to Customs Handling of Import & Export Freight (CHIEF) do not correspond to those held on the inventory record.
E1 Customs examination advice - produced for entries selected to route 2 (documentary check and examination of goods) (referred to in paragraph 2.4 of trader input of entry to the customs computer CHIEF).
E2 Entry acceptance advice - produced for all satisfactory entry or amendment inputs (referred to in paragraphs 2.4 and 3.1 of trader input of entry to the customs computer CHIEF). Also produced when an entry is reprocessed ‘ex-hold’ on the input of a vessel arrived message. Then the E2 includes the additional legent, ‘ENTRY ACCEPTED EX-HOLD-VESSEL NOW ARRIVED’ (referred to in paragraph 2.4 of trader input of entry to the customs computer CHIEF).
E5 Reselection advice - produced when customs reselect an entry from route 3 to routes 1 or 2, or from route 1 to route 2.
E7 Entry amendment advice - produced for entry amendment inputs where the entry is deleted, or where a letter of explanation regarding the amendment is required by customs (referred to in paragraph 3.1 of trader input of entry to the customs computer CHIEF).
E8 Control office report - produced for all entries where a warehouse code is shown in Box 49 of a Single Administrative Document (SAD).
E9 Entry accounting advice - produced when clearance cannot be granted for various reasons. The reason is stated on the advice (referred to in paragraphs 6.1 and 6.4 trader input of entry to the customs computer CHIEF).
H2 Pre-lodgement advice - produced for all satisfactory entry or amendment inputs for entries in route H (referred to in paragraphs 2.4 and 3.1 of trader input of entry to the customs computer CHIEF).
H3 Vessel arrive advice of error - related to the inventory linked environment. Produced on the declarants printer when, following CHIEF transaction ANGA input, ie goods arrived, reprocessing takes place and an error is found. Requires agent to make an amendment and/or goods arrived.
H5 System deleted pre-lodged entry advice - advice to Entry Processing Unit (EPU) and trader of timed system deletion of pre-lodged entries.
H7 Pre-lodgement amendment advice - produced in the circumstances described for output E7 for entry amendment inputs where the entry is in route H.

Reprints of outputs E2 may be requested using CHIEF transaction RDE2. These reprints are indentified by ‘duplicate’ being printed after the title.

Code Description
N1 System deleted invalid entry advice - advice to trader of timed system deletion of invalid entries which have never been valid.
N2 Entry cancellation request - advice to customs of trader’s request to cancel entry.
N3 Entry cancellation refusal advice - notification to trader that a cancellation request has been refused.
N4 Entry cancellation approval advice - advice to trader that cancellation request has been approved.
N5 Entry cleared from suspense advice - advice to customs that entry has cleared through ‘time-out’ or from FAS suspense.
N6 Queried entry advice. Report to trader giving details of a query on an entry.
N7 Queried entry response. Report to customs of reply by trader to entry query.
