Details

The UK native breeds support (NBS) list includes UK native breeds of livestock (cattle, sheep, goats and pigs) and equines. Each breed is categorised as ‘at risk’, ‘not at risk’ or ‘uncategorised’.

The NBS list replaces the UK native breeds at risk (NBAR) list from 1 April 2026 onwards. The NBAR list has been archived.

The list provides information on native breeds categorised as being ‘at risk’ for applicants and agreement holders under the Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes.
