This is one of a series of guidance notes on the strategic outcomes of the UK national action plan on women, peace and security (2018 to 2022) to support implementing policy and programme interventions in each area.

In Strategic Outcome 3 (preventing gender-based violence) the UK government commits to increase the number and scale of interventions that integrate effective measures to prevent and respond to gender-based violence (GBV) in conflict, with a focus on addressing violence against women and girls (VAWG) as the most prevalent form of GBV in conflict.
