Updated 19 February 2026
1. Background
This page summarises the UK government’s progress in delivering Commitment 2 of National Action Plan 6: strengthening transparency and accountability of UK Official Development Assistance (ODA)
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has made strong progress since the start of the plan. We have completed 12 out of 14 milestones.
2. What we have delivered
The FCDO has completed 12 out of 14 milestones. We now publish ODA data monthly, we were rated as the top performing foreign ministry in the Aid Transparency Index 2024, and we delivered the Aid Transparency Review 2025, which confirmed that UK departments are more transparent than ever.
We did not achieve Milestones 7 and 8. Milestone 7 is still pending as the FCDO postponed work on the Country Development Partnership Summaries while improvements are made to DevTracker.
Milestone 8 is progressing well and is on track for completion. Work is underway to finalise the government’s response to the 2025 Aid Transparency Review, including responses to recommendations.
