Background
Employees who spend their own money on expenses necessary for their job, such as washing their work uniform, may be eligible to claim tax relief on these costs.
It’s important that employees understand what tax reliefs they may be eligible for, and that they can claim freely and directly through HMRC to receive 100% of any money due.
We want employees to:
- know which expenses they are eligible to claim for
- understand how to make a claim
We want employers to:
- help their workforce understand what they are entitled to
- pass on information to their employees explaining how to claim
How you can help
We have provided these communications resources for stakeholders to use across your own channels to help share important information with your workforce.
They include:
- text for use on your staff intranet
- posters for communal workspaces
- help cards for distribution around your office
