Information sharing advice for safeguarding practitioners

Guidance on information sharing for people who provide safeguarding services to children, young people, parents and carers.

Applies to England

This advice is for practitioners and senior managers. It helps them decide when and how to share personal information legally and professionally.

It might also be helpful for practitioners working with adults who are responsible for children who may be in need.

This replaces ‘Information sharing: advice for practitioners providing safeguarding services (2015)’.

Departmental advice helps you understand how to comply with the law or explains what our policies mean in practice. You do not have to follow the advice.
