Rotavirus statistics

In February 2015 PHE responded to a request for data on the number of infant hospitalisations and deaths as a result of rotavirus in the UK pre- and post-introduction of the new vaccination schedule in 2013.

Details

This Public Health England (PHE) response provided the number of hospitalisations by epidemiological year (July to June of following year) within Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) coded as Rotavirus (according to ICD-10 classification). This is the only information held by PHE.

PHE does not hold any data in relation to infant deaths as a result of rotavirus.
