This veterinary risk assessment provides a qualitative assessment of the risk of a sheep or a goat in Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) becoming infected with sheep pox and goat pox virus from the legal importation of a single consignment of unpasteurised milk or dairy products from sheep or goats in Spain.

The likelihood of a sheep or goat in Great Britain being infected with the sheep pox and goat pox virus from the importation of a single consignment containing unpasteurised ovine or caprine milk or dairy products from an infected and undetected flock in Spain is assessed as ‘very low with high uncertainty’.
