Details
This direction requires the council to:
- continue to co-operate with the commissioner appointed by the Secretary of State for Education
- co-operate with the options appraisal commissioner by the Department for Education
- complete a formal partnership with a local authority, identified by the DfE, to deliver such of its children’s social care functions deemed appropriate
It follows:
- Ofsted’s inspection report of North East Lincolnshire Council local authority children’s services published 26 November 2021 that judged services to be inadequate across all sub judgements
- an independent report by Peter Dwyer CBE, the North East Lincolnshire Children’s Services Commissioner at the time
This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to North East Lincolnshire Council on 9 December 2021.
