Reservoir emergencies: on-site plans

How reservoir operators should prepare on-site plans so they can respond to emergencies.



A reservoir emergency on-site plan is used by people who are unfamiliar with the reservoir, for example:

  • a temporary supervising rngineer
  • a newly appointed Inspecting Engineer
  • the emergency services
  • the Environment Agency

These documents include guidance on how to prevent dams failing and minimising an emergency incident’s effects.
