This project researched the safety of stepped spillways made of masonry, after similar structures failed at Boltby and Ulley reservoirs. The project produced this technical report which includes guidance on the design and maintenance of stepped masonry spillways. It also includes good practice for structural inspections to prevent future failures.

The project started in June 2008 and was completed in October 2010.
