Detail

The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and the Environment Agency, (collectively termed ‘the Regulators’ in this review) have established agreements with Radioactice Waste Management Directorate (RWMD) to review RWMD’s work towards implementing geological disposal and developing a geological disposal facility (GDF).

This scrutiny will help RWMD to progress implementation and to develop the applications necessary for licensing and permitting purposes.
