Details

Regional care cooperatives (RCCs) are regional bodies that bring together:

  • local authorities
  • health services
  • youth justice
  • other partners

They plan and commission the homes and support for looked-after children.

On 26 March, the Department for Education launched an expression of interest process, inviting prospective areas to come forward and bid for grant funding (up to £1.7 million per area) to set up a new RCC.

On 8 July, five new RCCs were announced. The new RCCs and their constituent local authorities are listed in the document on this page.

This document is for those in the children’s social care sector, including:

  • local authorities
  • providers
  • sector bodies

More information about the government’s ambition for RCCs is available.
