This privacy notice is for parents of pupils taking the RBA from the academic year 2025 to 2026 onward. It explains how pupils’ data will be collected and used in relation to the RBA, and what your rights are.
Please note that the Standards and Testing Agency (STA) contracted the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) to develop and deliver the RBA for the first 4 years from the 2021 to 2022 academic year. If your child took part in the RBA between the academic years starting in 2021 and ending in 2025, please refer to the NFER privacy notice for RBA pupil data.
Schools are still required to develop their own privacy notice to share with parents. We recommend that schools refer to the:
- Department for Education’s (DfE) model privacy notices
- STA privacy notice above
- published STA guidance on the RBA collection page
- DfE privacy notice for RBA staff data, for staff participating in the RBA from the academic year 2025 to 2026 onwards
- NFER privacy notice for RBA staff data, for staff who participated in the RBA between the academic years starting in 2021 and ending in 2025
