Assesses the commercial and technical feasibility of increasing and improving consumer engagement with the energy market, through the use of quick response (QR) codes on bills. QR codes are machine-readable codes used for storing website addresses or other information. They are read using the camera on a smartphone.

The QR codes working group, facilitated by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), produced the report as part of the midata programme.
