Details

In this Project Gigabit progress update, we set out the progress being made to deliver fast and reliable connectivity to homes and businesses across the UK.

It outlines the latest on our pipeline of procurements. In recent months BDUK also launched nine new procurements in Cheshire, Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire, West Herefordshire and Forest of Dean, East Gloucestershire, Peak District, Mid-Devon, and two Cross Regional contracts covering areas in Lancashire, North Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire, West and Mid-Surrey, Staffordshire, West Berkshire, Hertfordshire, West and North Devon and North West, Mid and South East Wales. These recent procurements mark a milestone of having launched all of our currently planned procurements in England. Work continues to be undertaken to look at the best possible options for premises in the devolved nations.

Additionally, it provides details of the Voucher evaluation report, which highlights how our Gigabit Vouchers have improved access to gigabit-capable connectivity for homes and businesses.

The update also provides insight into the relevant policy, legislative and regulatory updates since our previous publication, including the publication of our environmental resource guide.

Finally, the update provides details on gigabit-capable broadband coverage across the devolved nations and regions, in urban and rural areas, by supplier, and by residential and commercial premises.
