Details

Public Health England provides a calibration service for both passive and active neutron monitors using ²⁴¹Am(Be) neutron sources. A²⁵²Cf neutron source is also available.

This report provides details of:

• the design and construction of the neutron laboratory
• the traceability of the neutron dose rates
• derivation of the scatter correction
• an uncertainty budget associated with the dose rates used during the calibration or irradiation
