The Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy wrote to the CMA on 8 October 2018 to indicate his concerns about the operation of the audit market. Lord Tyrie, Chairman of the CMA, replied on 9 October, explaining that the CMA will launch a market study and indicating the scope.
