A Brexit deal has been agreed in principle with the EU. If the withdrawal agreement is not signed by the UK and the EU, the United Kingdom could still leave the European Union without a deal on 31 January 2020. This paper sets out the immigration arrangements for EU citizens in the event that the UK leaves the EU without a deal. They replace those set out in the policy paper that was published on 28 January 2019.
Irish citizens’ rights are unaffected by these new arrangements. They can continue to come to the UK to live and work as now.
