The Environment Agency has reviewed the Environmental Permit for the installation which is subject to Chapter II of the Industrial Emissions Directive under the Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations 2016 and is now consulting on the proposed decision.

The installation is a power station comprising solid biomass-fuelled boilers. This is an Environment Agency initiated variation and consolidation to implement:
  • a statutory review of permits in the Large Combustion Plant (LCP) industry sector.

  • the incorporation of legislative changes following the publication of “Best Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions” for LCP – published 17 August 2017. We have considered two requests for derogations from the Operator relating to BAT Conclusions 24 and 26. We propose to grant these derogation requests.
