Annexe B: eligibility of 2 and 3 year olds

Eligibility for 2 and 3 year olds has not changed (all children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2026 are eligible for the national flu vaccination programme 2026 to 2027). Therefore, as in previous seasons, if the child turns 3 years of age before the start of flu season (on or before 31 August 2026) they are eligible for the 2026 to 2027 programme as a 3 year old. If the child turns 4 years of age during the flu season (on or after 1 September 2026) they are eligible for the 2026 to 2027 programme, as the child was 3 years of age before the start of the flu vaccination season.
However, if the child turns 2 years of age during the flu season (on or after 1 September 2026) although they become able to receive the flu vaccine under the product license, they will not be eligible under the national programme (unless in clinical risk groups).
