This Merchant Shipping Note (MSN) sets out and explains the requirements to revalidate all Certificates of Competency and tanker endorsements under the Standards of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Convention and Code. It also details the requirements to revalidate your Certificate of Competency (CoC) if you are unable to demonstrate the required seagoing service or relevant experience.
Notice to all owners, masters, officers, ratings and those concerned with maritime training.
This notice replaces MSN 1861 on 10 January 2023.
