This notice should be read in conjunction with MGN 636 (M) amendment 1 which provides details and guidance on interpretation of the merchant shipping and fishing vessel (health and safety at work) regulations 1997, MGN 587 (F) amendment 1 (in respect of fishing vessels) and the merchant shipping and fishing vessels (control of noise at work) regulations 1997, MGN 447 (M+F) amendment 1 merchant shipping and fishing vessel (control of noise at work) regulations 1997 procedure for seeking exemptions.

This notice replaces MGN 352 (M+F) amendment 1 the merchant shipping and fishing vessels (control of noise at work) regulations 2007 and MGN 377 (M+F) sound advice – noise at work from music and entertainment.
