On 14 October 2015 the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published advice to the Secretary of State for Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). CMA recommended that he agree to release the undertakings given in the 7 past merger cases under the Fair Trading Act 1973.

In this letter the Secretary of State accepted the advice and agrees to release the undertakings.

This followed a review launched by the CMA in March 2015 of structural merger remedies from before 2005.
