The Department for Education has given local authorities specific statutory targets to raise the proportion of children achieving a good level of development in the early years foundation stage profile assessment by the 2027 to 2028 academic year.
These give each area clear direction for delivering with partners, including local planning and prioritisation for services across the 0 to 5 system.
