Published 5 October 2026
Applies to England and Wales
If your complaint relates to the interpreting service, including bookings, technical issues, service delivery, or the supplier’s handling of a matter, it should be raised with the relevant supplier in the first instance. Further information can be found below:

Where complaints and feedback are related to the quality of the services provided by an interpreter, the respective supplier will refer these to The Language Shop (TLS) as the independent quality and assurance supplier for further investigation.
If you’re an interpreter and wish to raise a complaint regarding how you’ve been treated in a court or tribunal venue, then you should also raise this with HMCTS through the standard complaints procedure.
Interpreters who wish to raise a complaint regarding their treatment while attending an assignment for another Ministry of Justice agency or commissioning body should follow that organisation’s complaints and escalation procedures.
