Infected blood interim estates payments: compensation application form
Apply for interim compensation as the estate of someone who has died after receiving infected blood.
Documents
Details
Compensation will be paid to the estates of deceased infected beneficiaries who were registered with an Infected Blood Support Scheme (IBSS) or an Alliance House Organisation Scheme on or before 17 April 2024. Check if you’re eligible to apply.
Use this form to apply for an interim compensation payment of up to £310,000 if this is your first time applying for an estates interim payment, or probate has changed since your previous estates interim payment application, or if you wish payment to be made to a different recipient from your previous estates interim payment.
- If you are an executor of an estate and you have not applied for an estate interim payment previously, you will need to apply using this full application form.
- If you previously received an interim payment of £100,000 as a bereaved partner, and you are the executor of the deceased infected persons estate, you will need to apply using this full application form.
- If the infected person received an interim payment of £100,000 while alive, the executor of the estate should apply using this full application form.
Once you have submitted your application form the Infected Blood Support Scheme will check for any prior interim payments and calculate the total interim payment owed to the applicant’s estate (for example £210,000 or £310,000).
If the estate has already received £100,000 in estates interim payments, the same personal representative is applying, probate remains unchanged since the previous application to an IBSS, and payment is to be made to the same recipient as the previous interim payment, there is an expedited application form that requires less information than provided previously. Contact the IBSS you are applying to for more information.
There is a separate application form to complete if you are a company who is the executor of the deceased infected person’s estate: compensation application form where a company is the personal representative.
If you need a printed or accessible version of the form, contact the IBSS in the nation where the person who died was infected.
