Details

This report assesses hydrogen transportation and storage infrastructure requirements up to 2035, and contains 5 work packages:

  • work package 1 - identifies key components of the hydrogen economy (production, transportation and storage, and demand) and combines them to identify a series of archetypes where the different technologies work together
  • work package 2 - provides predictions for hydrogen demand up to 2035
  • work package 3 - combines the archetypes and demand predictions to provide estimated hydrogen transportation and storage infrastructure requirements. These are then used to predict costs
  • work package 4 - explores commercial arrangements that apply to hydrogen transportation and storage infrastructure
  • work package 5 - outlines potential barriers to investment in hydrogen transportation and storage infrastructure

This report was commissioned by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and delivered by Frazer-Nash Consultancy Limited and Cornwall Insight Limited.
