HS2 Phase One environmental statement volume 5: land quality

These documents have been published as part of the HS2 Phase One environmental statement for the route between London and the West Midlands. The environmental statement was produced to accompany the HS2 Phase One hybrid Bill.

This appendix presents information on the land quality assessment undertaken, including:

  • detailed assessment of areas of potential contamination in the vicinity of Phase One of HS2
  • information on site visits, mining and mineral areas, sites of geological conservation interest
  • discussions with consultees
  • maps showing features relevant to the land quality assessment such as areas of potential contamination, landfills and mineral areas

Data reports

These reports are specific to individual community forum areas (CFAs). A map depicting each CFA along the route is available in the Introduction to the environmental statement.

Map book

Map series LQ-01 shows all the areas of land that have been assessed with an indication of which areas may pose a contaminative risk for Phase One of HS2. The maps also show landfills (both current and historical); current and potential mineral and mining areas; and geological conservation sites.
