This framework document sets out the broad governance framework within which the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Historic England operate.
The document sets out Historic England’s core responsibilities and describes the governance and accountability framework that applies between DCMS and Historic England. It also sets out how the day-to-day relationship works in practice, including in relation to governance and financial matters.
This framework document has been agreed between the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Historic England in accordance with the HM Treasury handbook Managing Public Money, and has been approved by HM Treasury.
