Section 9 (2) of the Planning Act 2008 requires NPSs to undergo Parliamentary scrutiny. The draft Waste Water NPS was laid before Parliament for scrutiny on 16 November 2010 - at the same time as going out to formal consultation.

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee held hearings into the draft Waste Water NPS during January and February 2011 and published their report on 5 April 2011. This, along with the uncorrected transcript of hearings and written evidence, can be found at on the Parliament.uk website.
