     Published a further notice under Condition GQAA1.1(b) which formally withdraws the remaining parts of the GQAA framework.

  2. 21 December 2021

     Published a notice under GQAA1.1(b) to disapply certain parts of the GQAA framework.

  3. 29 July 2021

     Added new rules for autumn 2021 exam series.

  4. 8 June 2021

     Added the Statutory guidance: appeals under the GQAA regulatory framework​. Corrected an error in Condition GQAA4.12 of the General Qualifications Alternative Awarding Framework. Resolved minor issues with the numbering of some conditions in the General Qualifications Alternative Awarding Framework.

About these documents

These documents set out the General Qualifications Alternative Awarding (GQAA) Conditions, plus related requirements and guidance. These rules and guidance were in force for part of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The GQAA Conditions came into effect at 13:00 on 24 March 2021 for GQ Qualifications as defined in Condition GQAA1.7:

• advanced extension award qualifications
• project qualifications (at all levels)
• GCE (AS or A level) qualifications
• GCSE qualifications

We published supporting guidance related to appeals in June 2021.
