Details

The Education and Skills Act 2008 allowed the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to share analytical data. DWP and BIS set up an analytical project in 2009 to develop a matched database of records on training, benefits and employment.

This research contains initial outputs from the matched data, showing immediate post-study earnings and employment outcomes for learners completing further education in the 2009 to 2010 academic year.

These datasets are highly experimental, and work is continuing to understand the most suitable way to interpret the results given the current limitations within the data.
