The July 2024 report presents interim findings of the qualitative process evaluation from REP’s first year and data from its first 9 months.

  • a key reason for joining the REP is to gain access to ESOL classes, as service users found the teaching quality higher than what they could access elsewhere
  • housing insecurity remains a critical challenge, impacting service users’ ability to engage with the REP
  • intermediate outcomes include increased confidence in job searching, better understanding of the UK job market, and having an up-to-date CV; service users report feeling more prepared for job interviews and having a clearer understanding of their career options
  • as of June 2024, 8% of service users were in employment, with the majority being in jobs of 16 hours per week or more
  • overall, the REP evaluation demonstrates the importance of providing comprehensive, tailored support to refugees seeking to integrate into UK society
