Details

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of heating in domestic properties by incentivising the deployment of low carbon heating (LCH) systems. The original duration of the BUS (2022-2025) is subject to an evaluation.

These reports and data tables provide interim evaluation findings, based on research conducted with property owners who had a low carbon heating system installed prior to the heat pump grant uplift, as well as research with registered installers.

Topics covered in these outputs include:

• property owners’ experiences of participating in the BUS
• why property owners joined the Scheme
• property owners’ satisfaction with the Scheme and their installations
• installers’ experiences of joining the BUS
• installers’ experiences of submitting grant applications

This is the first publication of the BUS evaluation.
The second set of BUS evaluation documents was published in January 2026.
