Details

BEIS is funding 6 local supply chain demonstration projects to test different approaches for increasing the rates of energy efficiency improvements in non-fuel poor homes, alongside renovation work, by providing support for local supply chain integration and project coordination.

The funding awarded by BEIS will be used over a 6 month period, with the option to extend this for a further 2 years, to develop a sustainable model for driving retrofit in a local area. In the first 6 months, up to £190,000 per organisation is available. If the project is extended to subsequent years, up to £2 million could be available per year, equating to £367,500 per organisation per year.

The grant call closed in September 2018 and we launched the pilots in November 2018: a list of project summaries is available on this page.

Contractors will be addressing the non-financial barriers to retrofit such as:

  • trust
  • hassle factor
  • lack of awareness

Contractors are responsible for:

  • project coordination
  • trades matching and high skilled technical support
  • quality assurance, potentially using third-party retrofit coordinators or measurement of actual performance of improvements
