Energy Consumption in the United Kingdom (ECUK) user survey: privacy notice

This notice sets out how we will use your personal data and your rights in conjunction with the Energy Consumption in the United Kingdom (ECUK) user survey held between 11 November 2021 and 7 January 2022.
The notice is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

We will process the following personal data:

The purpose(s) for which we are processing your personal data is:
- to discuss responses to the user feedback survey on the Energy Consumption in the United Kingdom (ECUK) publication as issued in November 2021 and to help inform its future work programme
- record names and email addresses of contacts who wish to receive updates on ECUK and related statistics
Legal basis of processing
The legal basis for processing your personal data is:
- consent: you consent to us doing so
Recipients
Your personal data will be shared by us with the statistical team responsible for the ECUK publication.
As your personal data will be stored on our IT infrastructure it will also be shared with our data processors Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
Retention
Your personal data will be kept by us until you inform us you wish to be removed from our contact lists or until the ECUK publication series ceases, whichever is soonest.
You have the right to withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. Please send your request to:

Your personal data will be kept by us until you inform us you wish to be removed from our contact list or until 3 years has elapsed after the closing of the survey, whichever is sooner.
We will periodically review the data we hold, and erase or anonymise it when we no longer need it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- request information about how your personal data are processed, and to request a copy of that personal data
- request that any inaccuracies in your personal data are rectified without delay
- request that any incomplete personal data are completed, including by means of a supplementary statement
- request that your personal data are erased if there is no longer a justification for them to be processed
- in certain circumstances, for example where accuracy is contested, request that the processing of your personal data is restricted
- withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data at any time
- to object to the processing of your personal data where it is processed for direct marketing purposes
- request a copy of any personal data you have provided, and for this to be provided in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format
International transfers
Your personal data will be processed in the UK.
Your personal data is stored on our IT infrastructure and shared with our data processors Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
Your personal data may be transferred and stored securely in the European Economic Area (EEA) by our data processors.
Your personal data may be transferred and stored securely outside the UK/EEA by our data processors. Where that is the case, it will be subject to equivalent legal protection through the use of Model Contract Clauses
Complaints
